Have you experienced this?
Asking for help can be uncomfortable, especially in a society with a lot of judgment and shame. Particularly when it’s around mental health. Can you relate? I know I can.
As someone who has dealt with mental health challenges most of my life, I know exactly how that can feel. In the past, I struggled with asking for help, which only made things worse.
What I want to know is —
Who said we have to be strong all the time?
Who said we were crazy for feeling this way?
Well — I kinda already know, and I think you do too. It’s the old way of thinking
You know —
Suck it up, it could be worse
You’ve got it better than most people
What do you have to complain about?
Heard that before?
It’s what got us into so much trouble in the first place. It’s what’s killing our society. It’s time to change that,
and that my friend… starts with you!
What do you need help with —
around the house?
at work?
with your kids?
your relationship with your partner?
maybe you need help sorting out your feelings.
Whatever you need, it’s not selfish to need. It’s essential to your well-being!
When we take the time to look inward and connect with what we truly desire, we are able to create the life we are meant to live.
Take a moment to ask yourself the following questions:
What’s holding me back from getting the help I need?
What is possible for me when I have the support I desire?
What can I do to help myself right now?
We are not meant to do it alone.
Women have gathered together in community for centuries because of this.
We need support from others who understand
We need to know we are not alone in our feelings
We need to connect from the heart authentically
Find your community, reach out to a coach or counsellor, talk to your people, and ask for what you need.
Remember — you’re never alone.
