There is SO much power in the words we use – the words we say out loud, the words we say in our heads, and the words we write.
Unfortunately, if you’re like most women, those words you’re using about your “I Am’s” … aren’t so great. It’s easier to fall into the habit of talking about what we DON’T want… instead of talking about what we DO want.
Have you been focusing on your problems, instead of the solutions? I also bet you’ve been beating yourself up about it too, haven’t you? It’s time for that to stop.
Perhaps you’ve just forgotten how amazing you are and all that you bring to the world. You are here for a reason. You are loved by many and have so much to offer to the world, and everything is possible for you if you believe.
They are meant to empower you, shift your mindset and lead you to a more optimistic and hopeful outlook and/or implant the seed of desire of what you’d like to manifest in your life.
They’ve been a huge part of my own mental health and wellness journey.
It takes 21 days for a habit to form…
When we repeatedly affirm to ourselves that we are worthy, we are capable and we are enough… we start changing the neuropathways in our brain… and exchange our limiting thought patterns for positive ones. That’s the key though… REPETITION!
You can use affirmations created by others already (online, or in decks… *cough*cough* like my Just for Today Deck!) or create your own which are more personal for you.
The key? Affirmations need to be in the present tense, use positive words and evoke an emotion or feeling that you desire to have with you more consistently.
One I often say to myself “Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better”. As I say that… my mind is now seeking out more opportunities to confirm that I am indeed getting better. Law of Attraction… like attracts like.
That you’re seeing your potential. That you are choosing growth, happiness and MORE! Gratitude Journals are a written expression of what you are thankful for, it shows the Universe that you appreciate what you do have, and it opens space for you to allow more awesomeness into your life.
To start an affirmation and gratitude journal:
Get yourself a notebook or journal… and start the following sentence…
“I am thankful for the abundance in my life. I am __________. I am _______________. I am _____________…..
Continue as long as you can. Each day, you’ll find more and more things to be thankful for (as simple as a good cup of coffee) and start to see the positive qualities in yourself. Remember… only positive, in the present words that make you feel good.
What are you grateful for? What strengths do you carry? Where are you shining? What are you rocking at? Where can you shift your thinking?
